Description
Nozomi Kasuga is a high school student at Ikai High School and a classmate of Ouri Kagami. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she accompanies a group of friends to investigate a reportedly haunted apartment known as the man-eating house. There, she is attacked and injured by a group of shikabane, the undead creatures that plague the world of Corpse Princess. She is rescued by Makina Hoshimura, the Corpse Princess herself, who eliminates the attackers. This harrowing experience leaves a deep impression on Nozomi, fundamentally altering her perception of death. Instead of fearing it, she becomes fascinated by the concept of death and the supernatural world she has glimpsed. She develops a particular admiration for Makina, seeing in her a beautiful and powerful figure who embodies a kind of death that is not ugly or terrifying but striking and elegant. Nozomi’s motivations stem from this newfound curiosity, drawing her into the orbit of the ongoing conflict between the Kougon Sect and the shikabane, though she remains an ordinary human without any combat abilities or supernatural powers. Her role in the story is that of a supporting character who provides a human perspective on the extraordinary events unfolding around her. Her relationship with Ouri Kagami is that of a fellow student, and through him she maintains a connection to the main cast. Her character development consists of a shift from a typical, uneventful teenage life to one marked by a macabre fascination with death, making her one of the few ordinary individuals who becomes aware of the hidden war between the living and the dead.
