Description
Shōrei, also known as Xiǎo Líng or Guǐ Zhǎn, is the sole survivor of the Sixth anti-Wangliang Corps, wiped out unexpectedly before the story begins. This past event, scarred by trauma, sparks rumors she might have caused her team's destruction. It fuels her initially abrasive and bratty demeanor, marked by hostility and deep-seated trust issues.

She possesses a childlike appearance with purple hair and blue/green eyes, typically dressed in practical clothing including boots and detached sleeves. In combat, her unique spiritual role is that of a "sin-eater": she absorbs the dark miasma forming Wangliang demons, manifestations of human resentment. Absorbing this miasma triggers a transformation, morphing her right arm into a monstrous demonic limb that grants formidable physical strength. This capacity to wield demonic energy makes her vital against Wangliang threats but also isolates her, as others fear her unstable power.

Her character develops through forced integration into the newly formed Sixth Corps. Though initially reluctant, she gradually engages with teammates like the empathetic seal practitioner Ying Ji and the exorcist Xun Qiao. Key moments involve deploying her demonic arm in critical battles, such as confronting a miasma-possessed farmer transformed into a tiger-like beast; her full transformation stuns observers, cementing her pivotal role. This progression suggests tentative steps toward teamwork and trust, though her past trauma and the stigma of her abilities remain ongoing tensions.
