TV-Series
Description
Dr. Jacques von Hämsterviel is a diminutive, rodent-like alien scientist distinguished by white fur, piercing red eyes, long rabbit-like ears, prominent buck teeth, and a bushy-tailed lower body reminiscent of a gerbil. He consistently wears a red cape secured by a gold "H" brooch and vehemently corrects anyone describing him as gerbil-like, insisting on his hamster-like nature.
A graduate of Evil Genius University alongside Dr. Jumba Jookiba, Hämsterviel later partnered with him to establish "Jokes on You," funding Jumba's creation of genetic experiments through shady business practices. He ultimately betrayed Jumba by alerting the Galactic Federation to Experiment 626's creation, leading to Jumba's arrest. Hämsterviel was subsequently imprisoned but escaped on multiple occasions.
His primary ambition is galactic domination, pursued by seizing control of Jumba's experiments, which he claims ownership over due to financing their creation. He employs tactics including manipulation, kidnapping, and genetic modification. After escaping prison following the Leroy & Stitch incident, he rehired Captain Gantu and Experiment 625/Reuben, operating from an asteroid hideout. He frequently abuses Gantu for failures, displaying a volatile temper and profound lack of loyalty.
In the *Stitch!* anime, Hämsterviel targets Stitch and the wish-granting Spiritual Stone on Izayoi Island. He utilizes recordings of Experiment 624/Angel's song to control other experiments, transmutes them to enhance their abilities, and deploys them against Stitch and Yuna. He also creates his own experiment, Skunkuna, to sow chaos on the island.
During the third season, he allies with Delia, a ruthless alien from his and Jumba's past. Under her direction, he steals a prototype power cell from Jumba to create Dark End—a genetically engineered experiment designed to kill Stitch and extract his power cell for galactic conquest. After Dark End's defeat, Hämsterviel is imprisoned but later escapes again during the *Stitch and the Planet of Sand* special.
Despite his megalomania, Hämsterviel exhibits cowardice when directly confronted, often pleading for mercy or claiming his actions were jokes. Flashbacks depict a more jovial past with Jumba, contrasting sharply with his later despotism. His appearance in *Stitch & Ai* finds him imprisoned on a volcanic planet, underscoring his recurring cycle of capture and escape.
