Description
Principe is a small young boy with blond hair, cobalt blue eyes, and freckles dusting his nose and cheeks. His usual attire consists of a green shirt and pants patterned with roses and stars, accessorized by a golden-yellow scarf and riband. In combat or grave circumstances, he switches to a blue constellation-embroidered overcoat, white shirt and pants, dark brown knee-high boots, and wields a stardust-forged rapier.

He hails from the tiny asteroid B-612, where he meticulously tends three volcanoes—two active, one dormant—and uproots invasive baobab seedlings to protect his world’s stability. A pivotal moment unfolds when a singular rose blooms on his asteroid. He nurtures her devotedly, sheltering her under a glass globe, yet grows bewildered by her expressions of love and perceived vanity. This confusion ultimately drives him to journey across the cosmos.

Kind, endlessly curious, and infectiously optimistic, Principe engages others with empathy and patience. He listens without judgment to their troubles and offers aid, upholding a fierce commitment to peaceful conflict resolution—he refuses to kill even destructive foes. Though resilient, he suffers profound grief when separated from loved ones. His cleverness shines through inventive problem-solving during his travels, occasionally tinged with mischief. He adores music but sings poorly.

His voyage leads him past solitary adults on other asteroids: a king ruling emptiness, a vanity-obsessed man, a shame-consumed drunkard, a star-owning businessman, a duty-bound lamplighter, and an experience-deprived geographer. Principe finds their fixations irrational and shallow, feeling profoundly disconnected, though he respects the lamplighter’s dedication.

Arriving in Earth’s Sahara Desert, Principe initially deems it uninhabited until encountering a cryptic snake. This serpent, later revealed as his primary antagonist, speaks in riddles and promises return to B-612. The snake covets Principe’s rose and spreads malice across planets to sever their bond. Their relationship is intensely adversarial yet paradoxically linked—both endure synchronized heart attacks and unconsciousness during clashes, embodying opposing forces of light and shadow.

A garden of roses shatters Principe’s belief in his flower’s uniqueness, plunging him into despair. This leads him to a wise fox who teaches him "taming"—forging unique bonds through shared time and care. Principe realizes his rose is irreplaceable due to their history, and the fox reveals that essential truths are invisible to the eye, grasped only by the heart, and that meaningful relationships give life purpose.

Other Earth encounters include a desert flower mischaracterizing humans as rootless and rare, a railway switchman noting human restlessness, and a merchant hawking time-saving thirst pills—which Principe rejects, preferring to savor experiences like water-seeking. An echo he mistakes for conversation reinforces his view of adult repetitiveness.

Principe wields the power to animate his journal sketches using stardust. He routinely conjures a sheep to build ladders or steps, and summons allies like a colossal blue elephant or spherical soldier. This ability depends on stardust, especially for his rapier. He also communicates fluently with flora and fauna.

His bond with the fox deepens into kinship, with the fox providing levity and support during snake conflicts. Their separation wounds Principe deeply. His love for his rose anchors him; he writes her reassuring letters during his absence and later aids her search for her home planet, culminating in her choice to join his adventures. His dynamic with the snake evolves beyond hatred—Principe pities the serpent and regrets its fate, acknowledging their cosmic interdependence as balancing forces.

Principe’s growth crystallizes in understanding love’s weight and the sanctity of his bonds. His travels intensify his devotion to his rose, proving absence deepens commitment. His interplanetary and earthly experiences cement his belief in heart-centered perception over superficial sight. The tale concludes when he chooses reunion with his asteroid and rose, achieved through the snake’s bite, freeing him from his earthly form.
