Description
Princess Badroulbadour, also known as Princess Badral in some adaptations, is the Sultan's daughter. Her royal status and sheltered palace upbringing define her background. Facing pressure to marry the Grand Wazir's son, an arrangement made by her father, she flees the palace in disguise, seeking freedom from her obligations. During this escape, she encounters Aladdin in the marketplace, establishing a connection despite their differing statuses.
Returning to the palace, she resumes her duties but remains central as Aladdin, having acquired wealth and status through the genie of the lamp, seeks her hand. The Sultan challenges competing suitors to present the best dowry; Aladdin's display of immense riches secures their marriage. Following their union, she resides with Aladdin in a magically constructed palace adjacent to the Sultan's.
She develops through adversity. When the sorcerer who initially trapped Aladdin returns, he deceives her into trading the magic lamp for a new one, exploiting her unawareness of its significance. This results in the sorcerer transporting the palace, with her inside, to Africa. Separated from Aladdin, she endures captivity under the sorcerer. Upon Aladdin's arrival, facilitated by the genie of the ring, she actively participates in overcoming the antagonist, poisoning the sorcerer herself to contribute directly to his defeat and the lamp's recovery. This act enables the palace's return and the restoration of their life.
After these events, she and Aladdin jointly decide to seal the magic lamp in a locked chest and dispose of the key, preventing its future misuse and signaling their move toward a life free from magical intervention, focused on their shared future within the kingdom. Her journey reflects a transition from a sheltered royal figure to an active participant in securing her own safety and future.
