Description
Karen Minazuki is the calm and stoic third-year student council president at L'École des Cinq Lumières. Though coming from an affluent family, her musician parents are constantly traveling for work, cultivating a quiet loneliness beneath her composed exterior; her butler, Jii-ya, serves as her primary caretaker and confidant.

Initially dismissing Pretty Cure as fiction, Karen's resolve to protect her endangered friends during a Nightmare organization attack unlocks her ability to transform. She becomes Cure Aqua, the "Blue Spring of Intelligence," wielding water-based powers with the phrase "知性の青き泉、キュアアクア!" ("Chisei no aoki izumi, Cure Aqua!"). As Cure Aqua, her bright blue eyes and waist-length blue hair are secured by a butterfly-shaped bow. She fights analytically, using attacks like "Pretty Cure Sapphire Arrow."

Her character development focuses on overcoming emotional isolation. Early on, she masks insecurities and avoids relying on others, sometimes snapping at allies like Komachi under stress. Through deep friendships within the Pretty Cure team—especially Komachi Akimoto, her best friend since first year—she gradually learns to express vulnerability and joy. Her dynamic with the passionate Rin Natsuki evolves from clashes rooted in their opposing personalities (intelligence vs. passion) into mutual respect and camaraderie. A pivotal protective bond forms with the fairy-turned-human ally, Milk (Kurumi Mimino), inspiring Karen to pursue medicine.

Her Cure design evolves across media:
* In *Yes! Pretty Cure 5*, she wears a cream mini-dress with blue accents, butterfly motifs, and opera-length gloves.
* In *GoGo!*, her outfit incorporates rose elements reflecting the season's theme.
* Her "Super Cure Aqua" and "Rainbow Cure Aqua" forms feature enhanced details like additional ruffles, angelic wings, and neon-blue hair.

In *Power of Hope: PreCure Full Bloom*, Karen fulfills her dream as a doctor. She treats initially distrustful patients like Nana Shinozaki, winning them over with empathy. She maintains her bond with Kurumi, who works as her secretary, and collaborates with former teammates against new threats like the Shadows.

She is skilled at playing the violin and has an occasional fondness for grape juice. Her surname "Minazuki" references June (a rainy month in Japan) and water ("mi"), while her given name "Karen" means "lovely" in Japanese or "pure" in Greek.
