Description
Nozomi Yumehara, a second-year student at L'École des Cinq Lumières Middle School, begins her story directionless and easily distracted, lacking clear goals or talents. Her path changes dramatically when she follows a pink butterfly into an alley and meets a mysterious young man. This figure is later revealed as Coco, a fairy prince from the Palmier Kingdom. Witnessing Coco attacked by Nightmare agents compels Nozomi to intervene. Summoning the butterfly grants her the Pinky Catch transformation device, enabling her to become Cure Dream, the Pretty Cure of Hope, known for her decisive catchphrase, "It’s decided!".

In her civilian identity, she sports magenta hair styled in shoulder-length pigtails secured by yellow bobbles, purple eyes, and favors casual outfits like pink blouses with dark blue pants or summer attire featuring scalloped tops and skirts. Transforming into Cure Dream alters her appearance significantly: her hair lengthens to her navel, brightens to pink, and forms ring-shaped pigtails held by yellow butterfly-shaped clips. Her combat attire is a cream-and-fuchsia two-piece with ruffled chiffon trim, fingerless gloves, magenta shorts, and ankle boots. Accessories include butterfly earrings, a swallowtail-shaped chest bow with a green brooch, and the Pinky Catch on her left wrist.

Her personality blends overwhelming optimism and kindness with clumsiness and distractibility, especially around food. Academically and athletically challenged, she compensates with relentless determination and deep empathy, extending even to adversaries. As Cure Dream, she gains focus and assertiveness, often delivering speeches about hope mid-battle. Character evolution reveals her dream of becoming a teacher, sparked by recognizing her passion for helping others. She actively pursues this goal through tutoring and mentorship.

Key relationships shape her journey. She shares a deep, lifelong friendship with her pragmatic childhood best friend, Rin Natsuki. Her bond with Coco evolves from a crush into a romantic partnership, culminating in marriage in the sequel *Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Pretty Cure '23~*, where they become neighbors and allies against new threats. A rivalry-turned-friendship with Milk centers on competing for Coco's attention and disputes over food. As an adult, she mentors her student Rumi, striving to support her dance ambitions despite institutional barriers.

Her abilities feature the signature **Dream Attack**, firing a pink energy sphere, and upgraded techniques like **Crystal Shoot** using the Dream Torch. Team-based attacks include **Five Explosion** with all Cures and **Rainbow Rose Explosion** in later seasons. Power-ups encompass **Super Cure Dream** (gaining butterfly wings in the first movie) and **Shining Dream** (featuring neon-pink hair, feathered motifs, and angelic wings in the second movie). In *GoGo!*, she utilizes **Shooting Star** and wields the Cure Fleuret for combination attacks.

In *Otona Pretty Cure '23*, she works as a literature teacher but experiences physical strain reactivating her Cure Dream powers, culminating in a week-long coma after the final battle. Her perseverance and leadership endure, exemplified when she protects Rumi from despair-inducing Shadows. The series concludes with her marriage to Coco and her ongoing commitment to nurturing others' dreams.
