Description
Urara Kasugano, a first-year student at L'École des Cinq Lumières Middle School, shines as a key member of the Pretty Cure team across numerous series and films. Her heritage blends Japanese roots from her mother, the late actress Maria Kasugano, and French lineage from her father, Michael Kasugano, alongside her grandfather Heizo Kasugano. Driven to honor her mother's legacy, Urara dedicated herself to acting from a young age. This demanding career, combined with her naturally reserved nature, initially limited her friendships, though she consistently maintained a polite and calm demeanor, often using "-san" when addressing others.

Beneath her cheerful exterior lies a layer of shyness and self-doubt, particularly regarding her acting ambitions. Befriending Yumehara Nozomi marked a turning point, revealing shared traits like impulsiveness, occasional absentmindedness, and a pronounced love of food—often indulging in large meals. Urara possesses a materialistic streak and takes her professional work seriously, guided by her critical yet respectful manager, Takigawa Mariko. A defining fear is scoleciphiobia, an aversion to worms.

Her journey as a Pretty Cure began witnessing Nozomi and Rin transform. Hesitating during a Nightmare attack, she remembered Nozomi's advice to "be herself," prompting a yellow butterfly to grant her a Pinky Catch. This enabled her transformation into Cure Lemonade, the "Pretty Cure of Effervescence," heralded by the catchphrase: "The effervescent scent of bursting lemon, Cure Lemonade!" Her yellow theme color manifests as light-based powers. Her signature attacks are "Lemonade Flash" (releasing light butterflies), "Lemonade Shining" (using the Lemonade Castanet), and "Prism Chain" (butterfly-chain whips). She contributes to group techniques like "Five Explosion," "Rainbow Rose Explosion," and "Floral Explosion."

Character development is central to Urara's story. Early struggles involved balancing her singing debut with acting, resolved through Nozomi's reassurance that both paths "share dreams," leading to her song "Extraordinary! Door of Courage." Despite failing a major audition in Yes! Pretty Cure 5's finale, she persevered. In Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo!, she formed a deep bond with the fairy Syrup, confiding her dreams and releasing a second song, "Twin・Tail Magic ~Fling." Her friendships with all Cures, especially the steadfastly supportive Nozomi, remain vital.

Her abilities evolved significantly across films and spin-offs. Miracle Lights empowered her as "Super Cure Lemonade" in Yes! Pretty Cure 5: Kagami no Kuni no Miracle Daibouken!, granting flight via butterfly wings and enhanced attacks. All Stars DX 2 further upgraded her to "Rainbow Cure Lemonade," featuring feather-like attire and smaller wings. As an adult in Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Pretty Cure '23~, she achieved success in acting and singing, recognizable by her waist-length hair, light vermillion glasses, and mature yellow jackets with pink accents. She released four solo songs—more than any Cure in her team—including "Dreaming Girl" and "Full of Dreams."

Trivia notes include her representation by snapdragons (symbolizing purity and daring), her status as the franchise's first interracial Cure, and being the only main Cure without a duet partner. She also delivered the 10th-anniversary congratulatory message in HappinessCharge Pretty Cure!.
