TV-Series
Description
Park Haneul, known as Akimoto Komachi in the Japanese version of the series, is a central character in the anime Yes! Precure 5 and its sequel Yes! Precure 5 GoGo!, where she transforms into Cure Mint, the Pretty Cure of Tranquility. She is a fifteen-year-old third-year middle school student at L'École des Cinq Lumières and a senior to the team's leader. At school she serves as the head of the library committee, and she is regarded as a popular and admired upperclassman alongside her best friend Karen Minazuki.

Her family runs a long-established traditional Japanese sweets shop known for its daifuku, and she lives with her parents and an older sister, Madoka, who closely resembles her but has an opposite personality. Park Haneul has a deep love of literature: she is an avid reader who spends much of her free time in the school library writing stories and scripts, and her dream is to become a novelist. She enjoys green tea and yokan, and she has an unusual habit of adding yokan to almost any dish she prepares.

In terms of personality, she is gentle, warm, kind, and calm, with a sensitive and thoughtful nature. She tends to be laid-back and somewhat indecisive, and she struggles with self-confidence, often doubting her own writing even when it shows real talent. Although she rarely loses her temper, she has a formidable inner strength, and when she is pushed past her limit she can become unexpectedly forceful and intimidating. She is also notably brave when it comes to supernatural matters, showing no fear of ghosts and great enthusiasm for occult topics, and she has a quirky, absent-minded side that leads her to say unexpected things in a perfectly composed manner.

Her motivation is closely tied to her dream of becoming a writer. When the team leader encouraged and supported that dream, Park Haneul felt a strong desire to help her in return, and this led her to accept the call to become a Precure and awaken as Cure Mint. Within the group she often acts as a mediator because of her gentle and patient manner, though her indecisiveness can sometimes make conflicts harder to resolve. Through battles and friendship alongside her four teammates, she gradually overcomes her lack of confidence and learns to believe in herself and her talent.

Her most significant relationship is with her best friend Karen Minazuki, whose strict and composed personality contrasts with her own softness; the two are nearly inseparable and are often seen together at school. Another important relationship is with Nuts, a fairy-like partner character. They grow close after he reads her juvenile novel Pirate Hurricane, and his rare praise for her first completed story, which she had revised seven times, means a great deal to her. Over time she develops romantic feelings for him, which she expresses through her second novel.

As Cure Mint, she serves as the team's defender, specializing in defense and long-range support for her allies. Her finishing moves are generally defensive in nature, but when her emotions erupt she can reverse her techniques into powerful offensive attacks. Her transformed appearance features vivid green hair that becomes longer and splits into two flowing sections, along with butterfly-shaped hair ornaments and a red gem, and her costume uses green with red accents. Her introduction identifies her as the green earth of tranquility, and her signature attack in the first series is delivered with a declaration about a maiden's rage that shakes the earth.

Over the course of the story she develops from a shy, self-doubting book lover into a more assured young woman, while remaining true to her calm kindness and growing into her place as a dependable member of the Precure team.
