Description
Ishimatsu Katori, a junior boxer of short stature, defies expectations with exceptional combat prowess, leveraging raw power to overpower groups of thugs and towering opponents. His loud, spunky personality blends sharp wit and comedic banter, balanced by fierce loyalty to allies. As a regional boxing champion, he joins Japan’s national team alongside Ryuuji Takane and Jun Kenzaki, competing in tournaments like the Japan National Boxing Championship and the international Jr. World Tournament, where he faces rival teams from the U.S., France, Italy, Germany, and Greece. His adaptable fighting style counters diverse foes, including Black Shaft’s recruits and the Shadow Clan, who relentlessly target Team Japan.

Tensions later erupt when Katori clashes with Kenzaki over perceived neglect of Ryuuji’s sister, Kiku, culminating in a fierce duel. Though bested, Katori’s resolve earns Kenzaki’s respect, highlighting his protective devotion. This loyalty drives him to aid Kiku’s rescue from the Shadow Clan, battling its agents alongside teammates. After Team Japan’s Jr. World Championship victory, he retires alongside his peers.

Spin-offs expand his legacy as he raises Rindo Kenzaki, orphaned son of Jun and Kiku, following their deaths. Across official narratives, Katori evolves from comic relief to a pillar of perseverance and camaraderie, his identity anchored by his regional champion roots, unyielding combat skills, and role as both ally and guardian.
