Description
Moop is a small green fairy who appears in the anime Futari wa Precure Splash Star and its film Tick Tack Kiki Ippatsu. He is a legless creature with large round ears, emerald eyes, and a red orb at the tip of his tail. On his forehead, he bears a yellow circle with a small heart in the corner. Moop is described as a mysterious spirit of the moon, and his name is derived from the word moon. He has a distinctive speech habit, ending his sentences with the syllable mupu.

Moop first appears in episode 24 of the television series. He has a connection to the character Michiru Kiryuu, though the exact nature of that link is not explicitly detailed. Early in his introduction, Moop and his counterpart Foop are rescued by Kaoru Kiryuu after they become trapped under a fallen tree, which helps establish a bond between the fairies and the Kiryu sisters.

Moop serves as an ally to the main protagonists, Saki Hyuuga and Mai Mishou. Along with Foop, he represents the power of the moon, which enables the heroines to access their upgraded forms, Cure Bright and Cure Windy. In the movie Tick Tack Kiki Ippatsu, Moop and the other fairies assist the Precure in navigating the World of Clocks and restoring the flow of time after it is stopped by a servant of Dark Fall.

Moop’s personality is gentle and loyal. He communicates with simple phrases, relying on his characteristic mupu, and shows concern for his companions. His motivations are aligned with protecting the world and supporting Saki and Mai in their battles against Dark Fall. Over the course of the story, Moop transitions from a mysterious, minor spirit to a trusted and active helper who contributes directly to the heroines’ power-ups and to their victory in the film. His key relationships include his close bond with Foop, his gratitude toward Kaoru, and his unwavering support of the two Precure warriors. His primary ability is channeling lunar energy, which he lends to Saki and Mai to transform into Cure Bright and Cure Windy, granting them enhanced strength and new attacks.
