Description
Choppy is a young angel-in-training dispatched by God to reclaim an extra heart mistakenly assigned to Sapphire at birth. This error occurred when Choppy prematurely delivered a blue male heart before learning God intended a female identity for Sapphire, leaving her with two hearts. As atonement, Choppy must retrieve the extra heart but remains trapped on Earth in a mortal form with limited divine powers after Sapphire refuses to relinquish either heart. He primarily communicates through a trumpet capable of loud blasts. Physical confrontations frequently result in setbacks due to his vulnerable mortal body.
Bound to Sapphire as her constant companion and protector, Choppy aids her in maintaining her dual identity as prince and princess while countering schemes by antagonists like Duke Duralumin and Baron Nylon. His presence proves especially potent against supernatural foes, notably Satan, who harbors an intense fear of angels; Choppy's trumpet blasts compel Satan's retreat despite his powers. Throughout various conflicts, including political coups and invasions led by figures like Mr. X, Choppy assists through encouragement, distraction, or improvised intervention.
A defining moment arises during the collapse of Silverland's castle, where Choppy sustains mortal injuries. In his final act, he negotiates with God, sacrificing his life to resurrect Sapphire's parents. This selfless deed fulfills his divine mission and earns him his angelic wings posthumously. Though his spirit ascends to heaven, Choppy's legacy persists through his unwavering loyalty and the completion of his redemptive arc from a mistake-prone angel to a devoted guardian.
