Description
Choppy is a fairy character who originates from the Fairy of Birds and serves as the partner to Mishou Mai in the Splash Star series. In physical appearance, Choppy is predominantly white with a pale yellow tone and light pink markings, including a butterfly-shaped marking on her forehead and a similarly shaped tail. She has long ears that droop down to her sides and bright blue-purple eyes, and she wears a pink necklace with a small aqua orb. Her speech is often characterized by ending sentences with the verbal tic "-chopi".

Characteristically, Choppy is demure, bashful, and soft-spoken. She possesses a highly sensitive emotional nature, becoming visibly distressed and prone to crying when conflicts arise. Despite her gentle demeanor, she has a tendency to internalize personal worries rather than share them with others. A notable instance of this occurs when she experiences intense homesickness for her home, the Land of Springs, and secretly considers running away alone to return there rather than burdening her partner Mai with her feelings. This reveals a struggle between her own emotional needs and her desire to appear strong for those she cares about, though she ultimately learns to be more open with her feelings after recognizing the support of her friends.

In terms of romantic awareness, Choppy is shown to be rather clueless. Her fellow fairy Flappy harbors an obvious crush on her and makes repeated attempts to confess his feelings, but she remains completely oblivious to his romantic intentions throughout the majority of the story, interpreting his gestures as simple acts of friendship. It is only by the conclusion of the series that she finally becomes aware of and returns his affections.

Choppy's core role in the story is as a transformation facilitator. She is the spirit of the Bird, and her power enables Mai to transform into the legendary warrior Cure Egret. She typically remains close to Mai, living with her and acting as a supportive companion. Later in the narrative, after enduring hardship including being captured and injured by the antagonist Goyan, Choppy receives additional power that upgrades her capabilities. This allows Mai not only to access her standard Cure Egret form, but also to transform into an advanced form known as Cure Windy. Choppy also has two distinct forms, her standard fairy guise and an alternate cellphone configuration known as the Mix Commune and later the Crystal Commune. In this device form, she can summon protective fairies when magical cards are used.

Within the specific context of the crossover film Precure All Stars DX: Minna Tomodachi—Kiseki no Zenin Daishūgō, Choppy is included as one of the many fairy mascots who appear to support the various Pretty Cure teams. She is present during the collective efforts to face the dimensional convergence crisis and protect the connections between worlds. Her function in this film is consistent with her role as a supporting mascot, appearing as part of the larger assembly of fairies and Cures. She also appears in the subsequent DX crossover films, including DX2 and DX3, once again as part of the assembled mascot characters aiding the Cures in their group battles.
