Description
Mepple hails from the Garden of Light as the chosen protector of Mipple, the Princess of Hope. This role fosters a deeply affectionate "lovey-dovey" romance between them, expressed through hugs and cuddles upon reuniting. Limited by Earth's energy, Mepple usually conserves power in a cell phone-like form, called a Card Commune (season 1) or Heartful Commune (*Max Heart*). His true fairy form features lemon-yellow fur, navy-blue eyes with light blue highlights, bearlike ears, and a star-tipped tail, marked by a distinctive male gender symbol with a heart motif on his head.

Arrogant from his warrior status, Mepple expects deference, fueling frequent clashes with his caretaker, Nagisa Misumi, whom he criticizes or taunts. Despite this friction, an unspoken closeness exists; Mepple intuitively senses Nagisa's feelings and dreads permanent separation. He exhibits possessiveness over Mipple, growing jealous of her interactions with Pollun, the Prince of Light. Selfish tendencies like demanding food or laziness surface, and he openly admits manipulating Nagisa. Yet, his devotion to Mipple reveals gentleness, prioritizing her safety and happiness, even risking his life against threats like Ilkubo.

Dispatched during the Dotsuku Zone invasion, Mepple arrived on Earth a century after Mipple due to dimensional time differences. He crash-landed near Nagisa, forging a reluctant partnership to find Mipple. Their reunion coincided with the awakening of Pretty Cure warriors Cure Black (Nagisa) and Cure White (Honoka Yukishiro). Mepple supported Nagisa throughout the initial conflict, hiding the debilitating toll Earth's environment took until he fell severely ill. When the Dark King fell, Mepple and Mipple faced permanent separation to avoid eternal sleep on Earth. Choosing loyalty, they entered eternal slumber beside the Prism Hopish, symbolizing their bond with Nagisa and Honoka.

In *Max Heart*, Mepple reawakens with Mipple to aid Pretty Cure against new threats seeking the Dark King's resurrection. He adapts to allies like Shiny Luminous (Hikari Kujou) and Lulun, the Princess of Light, continuing to facilitate Nagisa's transformations via the Heartful Commune. As the Evil King ravaged the Garden of Rainbows and the Cures faltered, Mepple declared unwavering contentment with his fate, valuing his relationships above all. After the Evil King's final defeat, the mascots initially departed silently but returned permanently once the Queen restructured the dimensions, allowing safe residence on Earth. Mepple reaffirmed his bond with Nagisa in an emotional reunion, punctuated by his signature complaint about hunger.

His relationships blend loyalty and conflict: a romantic bond with Mipple, a fractious yet profound partnership with Nagisa, wary tolerance of Pollun (whom he mentors on Earthly concepts like Christmas), and protective concern for Honoka due to her link with Mipple. Throughout all media, including seasons and films, Mepple evolves from arrogance and selfishness to self-sacrifice and enduring loyalty, cementing his role as a foundational guardian in the Pretty Cure legacy.
