Description
Bouleuse Gotho is a 50-year-old weapons dealer and salvager operating in Uoodo City. He discovers Chirico Cuvie concealed within his junkyard and sponsors Chirico's entry into Uoodo's Battling arena, a combat sport featuring Armored Trooper pilots where spectators gamble. Gotho primarily pursues moneymaking schemes, frequently leveraging opportunities presented by Chirico's combat prowess for financial gain.
Following Uoodo's collapse, Gotho journeys with companions Chirico, Coconna, and Vanilla to Kummen. There, he establishes a nightclub serving the EX-10 mercenary base while maintaining off-world connections essential to his ongoing arms trading business. During the events on Melkia depicted in "Big Battle," Gotho negotiates with an acquaintance, Cherokee, to arrange a high-stakes Battling match pitting Chirico against the undefeated Balarant experimental soldier Radaa Niva. When Fyana is kidnapped to coerce Chirico's participation, Gotho faces suspicion from his companions but maintains his innocence. He provides technical support by modifying a Scopedog into a lighter variant for Chirico's use against the Balarant land battleship.
Despite his opportunistic nature, Gotho demonstrates consistent loyalty. He assists in tactical operations against military forces, procures vital equipment like helicopters, and risks direct combat involvement during missions, even when his financial interests clash with group safety. Approximately 25 years after the original events, Gotho organizes a tour for Vanilla and Coconna to revisit significant locations from their past adventures with Chirico, a journey unexpectedly entangling them in a 3000-year-old prophecy. Over 30 years after initially parting ways with Chirico, Gotho reunites with him at an oasis town, confirming his enduring connection to the group.
Throughout his appearances, Gotho functions as an unlikely father figure within the group. His background in shady dealings contrasts with his demonstrated loyalty and technical resourcefulness during conflicts. He survives dangerous situations without formal combat training, relying instead on street smarts and familiarity with weaponry.
