Description
Kusuha Mizuha is a young woman whose life changes drastically after being drawn into the escalating conflict between Earth and alien invaders. In the Original Generation timeline, she is introduced as an eighteen-year-old high school student and childhood friend of Ryusei Date, for whom she harbors a quiet but persistent affection. Her personality is gentle, warm, and cheerful, and she speaks in a manner typical for her age. Despite her optimistic nature, she is deeply saddened by the chaos and destruction that unfold around her. She originally nurtured dreams of becoming a doctor or running a health food shop, reflecting a nurturing and caring disposition that persists even as she is thrust into military life.
Her direct involvement in the larger conflict begins when she accompanies Ryusei to the Burning PT Tournament. During the event, the stadium comes under attack by the Aerogaters, and Kusuha is injured in the chaos. Motivated by a desire to support Ryusei after he is recruited into the SRX Team, she voluntarily enlists in the Earth Federation Army and is assigned to the medical crew of the battleship Hagane. It is there that her latent abilities are discovered. Kusuha is identified as a Psychodriver, a person with innate psychic potential that makes her compatible with certain advanced humanoid mecha. Under the guidance of Ingram Prisken, she is trained as a pilot and assigned to operate the Grungust Type-2.
Her role in the story deepens when Ingram eventually betrays the Earth forces and defects to the Aerogaters. He uses his psychological influence to manipulate Kusuha, forcing her to side with the enemy against her will. She is later rescued from this mind-control by Brooklyn “Bullet” Luckfield, a member of the ATX Team, during a joint operation. After the defeat of the Divine Crusaders and the conclusion of Operation SRW, Kusuha transfers to the ATX Team, where she continues to serve as a mecha pilot. Her key relationships center on her unreciprocated crush on Ryusei, her complicated ordeal with Ingram as both mentor and manipulator, and the developing bond with Bullet, who becomes her eventual romantic partner in the broader Original Generation narrative.
