Description
Sänger Zonvolt, alternately transliterated as Zengar Zombolt, is a Banpresto Original mecha pilot defined by his samurai-inspired code of honor and unwavering resolve. Clad in mechanical might, he proclaims himself the “sword that smites evil,” brandishing the colossal Zankantou katana fused to his mecha. His speech resonates with four-kanji idioms like *ichiisenshin* (wholeheartedness) and *jinba ittai* (unity of blade and steed), punctuated by thunderous declarations such as *“Ware wa Zengā Zonboruto, Aku wo tatsu tsurugi nari!”* and *“Waga Zankantou ni tatenu mono nashi!”*

A founding member of the elite Aggressors unit alongside Elzam V. Branstein, Gilliam Yeager, and Kai Kitamura, he later spearheaded the ATX Team after the group’s dissolution. During the Divine Crusaders’ uprising, he defected to Bian Zoldark’s faction, driven by a conviction to fortify humanity against extraterrestrial threats—a choice aligning him with Elzam but pitting him against former comrades like Kyosuke Nanbu. Though initially adversaries, Kyosuke’s role in reconciling Sänger’s convictions forged a deep mutual respect.

Piloting the Grungust Type-3, he fought to liberate the Tesla Leicht Institute from the alien Inspectors until its destruction, after which he inherited Bian Zoldark’s Dynamic General Guardian (Dygenguard) as his flagship unit. When the Shura general Magnaz Ald shattered the Dygenguard’s Zankantou, Sänger adapted seamlessly, reactivating its original armaments—a contingency he had preemptively prepared—before the blade’s eventual restoration.

His loyalty to Dr. Sophia Nate, architect of the Earth Cradle, anchored pivotal arcs. In the Alpha timeline, he briefly served Magus, a corrupted supercomputer housing her consciousness, before renouncing its influence. In Original Generation, he dueled Wodan Ymir—a cyborg clone of himself from a parallel world—to free Sophia from Magus’ control. This rivalry spanned conflicts against the Shadow-Mirror, Einst, and beyond.

Post-campaign, he withdrew into seclusion aboard the *Kurogane* with allies like Rätsel Feinschmecker (Elzam’s alias) and Yuuki Jaggar, reemerging only when crises demanded. His protective bond with Irui Gan Eden, a girl tied to the alien Baral Garden, revealed a gentler facet, as he mourned her death after her link to the entity severed.

Non-canonical portrayals, such as *Project X Zone*, depict him wielding a human-sized Zankantou spiritually enhanced by Kaguya Nanbu, retaining his signature fervor with cries of *“CHESTO!!!”* mid-combat. A parallel timeline saw his demise at the Shadow-Mirror’s hands, spurring Wodan Ymir’s creation—a cyborg replicant embodying his martial prowess and serving as his darkest mirror, intertwining legacy and identity across realities.
