Description
Nyaito is the main character of the anime MonHun Nikki Girigiri Airū-mura G. He is an Airū, one of the cat-like creatures who live together in Airū Village, where he and his companions carry out quests to develop their village. Among his group, Nyaito is described as the protagonist and the only straight man. He is the most sensible and level-headed member of the group, and because he acts as the voice of reason, he is the one who repeatedly winds up in terrible situations when the plans and antics of the others go wrong.
Nyaito's main motivation is the growth and prosperity of the village. Along with his friends, he takes on a wide variety of quests, such as mining charms that help the Airū improve their skills, going out as a support Palico, and strengthening weapons. His sense of responsibility also drives him to take on personal challenges. He attempts to earn a G Medal by overcoming a series of trials set by Neko-to, asks the master weaponsmith Madō to repair a broken Airū Pickaxe, decides to change his job in search of a more suitable occupation, and searches the village for a bow tie given to him by the village chief after he loses it.
In the story, Nyaito is the anchor of a group of distinctive personalities. His companions include the dreamy and absent-minded Nyamii, the relaxed and easygoing Leader, the scholarly and idea-prone Pakase, the endlessly hungry Puni, and other villagers with similarly strong character traits. His role within these relationships is to react to their behavior and to try to keep the group on track, even though his efforts usually lead to him being the one who suffers the consequences. He also encounters recurring figures in his quests, such as Neko-to, who tests him, the Instructor, who trains the group, and an elderly retired hunter with whom he goes on a hunt.

He and his friends repeatedly face dangerous situations, including being caught in a monster ambush on a rope bridge, confronting a giant monster while accompanying a legendary old hunter, and setting out on an ocean expedition with Captain Nyack to chase the monster Lagiacrus.
