Description
Fred, a human character within the Transformers Armada storyline, attends Lincoln Middle School as the best friend of Billy, a would-be bully. Unlike Billy, Fred lacks motivation for harassing peers like Rad and Carlos, preferring to snack constantly and frequently voicing his persistent hunger. This defining trait of insatiable snacking recurs throughout his arc. Dialogue implies Fred may have Diabetes mellitus type 1, as he references low blood sugar after physical exertion like running.
Fred and Billy trail Rad and Carlos into subterranean caves beneath a local observatory, aiming to uncover their activities and possibly intimidate them. Emerging from rubble, they discover colossal body-shaped depressions and footprints—their first indirect encounter with Transformers.

Production notes reveal the Armada creators initially planned to write out Fred and Billy but retained them unintentionally. Post-Armada, it was humorously suggested they partied in France. Fred reappears minimally in the sequel Cybertron as the third astronaut aboard an Autobot spacecraft in "Beginning," extending his narrative presence.
