Description
Lu Bu (Ryo Fu) Tallgeese is a formidable antagonist in the SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors universe, including the theatrical short film The Super-Duper Movie. He is a mighty general known throughout the land of Mirisha as a matchless warrior capable of defeating a thousand foes alone. He serves under the tyrannical Dong Zhuo Zaku, but his loyalty is not to Dong Zhuo himself; rather, he joined the army solely to find and fight opponents strong enough to challenge him. He is coldhearted and merciless toward the weak, a reputation that is noted by other characters like the Chou brothers. His other name is Housen.

His primary motivation is to prove his strength through combat. He seeks out the most powerful warriors and becomes enraged when he sees his comrades fall in battle. Despite his ruthless nature, he possesses a warrior’s pride and a twisted sense of honor. In the movie, which is set during the early part of the television series, Lu Bu appears on a cliff riding his horse Sekitoba, commenting that he will enjoy facing the successor of the Ryuuteiken, referring to Liu Bei Gundam.

His role in the story is that of a feared independent agent who shifts allegiances as it suits his desire for battle. He initially acts as a general under Dong Zhuo, but later he summons the Tengyokugai, a powerful artifact, at the Biujiyou and defeats Dong Zhuo himself, then disappears. He reappears under the orders of Yuan Shu Zssa and later joins Yuan Shao Bawoo’s massive army, forming a unit called the Shura Demon Squad. At the Battle of Guandu, after Yuan Shao is defeated, Lu Bu challenges the one he judges to be the strongest at that moment, Cao Cao Gundam, but is ultimately no match and perishes alongside his comrades Chou-sen Qubeley, Koushun Vayeate, and Chinkyuu Mercurius. Later accounts suggest he may have survived, as a cloaked figure was seen burying Chou-sen’s body, but his fate remains uncertain.

Key relationships are defined by his pursuit of strong foes. He has a notable rivalry with Liu Bei Gundam. In a pivotal moment, he shields Liu Bei from a shot fired by Dong Zhuo, declaring that only he, Lu Bu, has the right to defeat Liu Bei. This act shows that he respects those he considers worthy opponents. He also interacts with his allies, such as Chou-sen, but he treats them as secondary to his own quest for battle.

Throughout his arc, Lu Bu develops from a seemingly loyal general into a rogue force who takes control of the Tengyokugai and overthrows his master, only to later submit to new warlords in his endless search for powerful adversaries. His eventual defeat highlights that even the strongest warrior has limits, though his ambiguous survival leaves room for continued presence.

His notable abilities include unmatched combat prowess with his weapon, the Hajingeki halberd. He uses devastating special attacks such as the Fierce Storm Slash and Explosive Tempest Wave. He rides the legendary horse Sekitoba, a steed that can transform into a bike form called Senrinkeitai, granting him exceptional mobility on the battlefield. His strength and reputation make him one of the most dangerous figures in the Sangokuden world.
