Description
Bachō, alternately known as Mōki or Sui, is the daughter of Ryoushuu’s military leader Batou. Her youth was marked by fighting alongside her father in the anti-Toutaku war. After Sousou’s invasion forces Batou’s suicide, she flees homelessness to join Kazuto’s army, driven by vengeance. Her journey shifts as she gradually processes grief, culminating in her forgiving Sousou and abandoning revenge for inner peace.
Tomboyish yet earnest, Bachō balances loyalty with blunt honesty. She flusters easily when faced with romantic advances or discussions of femininity, a stark contrast to her battlefield persona. There, she wields a cross-shaped spear with formidable strength, commands troops confidently, and rides horses skillfully—a legacy of her family’s cavalry heritage.
Her flaws mirror her intensity: rash decisions, stubbornness in adversity, and a minor physical vulnerability of mild urinary incontinence, sometimes leveraged for lighthearted humor.
In the visual novel *Suzukuri Karin-chan*, operating under the alias Sui, she serves as a knight investigating Shion’s rumors. Temporarily adventuring in the Human Realm to fund a Pegasus purchase—honoring her family’s tradition of rearing winged steeds—she allies with others to thwart Shion’s plots, blending duty with adaptability.
She shares a bond of spirited camaraderie with Chouhi, each bolstering the other’s resolve. Her martial prowess stems from grueling family training: enduring whirlpool resistance drills, deflecting hurled projectiles, and relentless conditioning.
Consistently across adaptations, her arc traces a path from vengeance-fueled rage to emotional maturity, framing her not just as a warrior refining her strength, but as a person learning resilience through reconciliation.
