Description
Fumika Narutaki is a student in class 2-A at Mahora Academy, and the younger half of the Narutaki twins. She is the sister of Fuka Narutaki, and while the two are physically nearly identical, Fumika has distinctive blue eyes in contrast to her sister's pink eyes, a detail that helps tell them apart. Like her twin, she is among the shortest and physically youngest-looking students in the class.
Fumika is almost the complete opposite of her sister in terms of personality. Where Fuka is mischievous and energetic, Fumika is noticeably more cautious, reserved, and sensible. Her hobby is cleaning, and she often finds herself acting as the voice of reason when Fuka comes up with a prank or a bad idea. Despite her better judgment, she tends to go along with her sister's schemes anyway, getting dragged into their shared adventures. She also has a habit of ending her sentences with a formal verbal tic. Fumika and Fuka claim to be undergoing ninjutsu training from their roommate, the skilled ninja Kaede Nagase, and they are sometimes seen wearing ninja outfits during various school activities. Their actual skills, however, appear to be somewhat rudimentary, mostly involving eavesdropping rather than combat. Fumika is also a member of the Strolling Club, which has made her well-versed in the various locations of Mahora Academy.
In the Summer OVA, Fumika appears alongside the rest of her classmates. The story of this special focuses on Nodoka Miyazaki and Yue Ayase practicing a new spell, which accidentally causes Nodoka and their teacher Negi Springfield to become physically tethered together. The situation becomes more complicated when the entire class goes to spend the day at a bathhouse, creating an awkward predicament for the shy Nodoka. Within this context, Fumika and her sister Fuka participate in the group's activities, providing some of the lighter, playful moments as they interact with the rest of the cast. In one notable scene, the twins try to get into the camera shot, but the camera refuses to focus on them, highlighting their status as the smallest and sometimes overlooked members of the class.
