Albert Chamomile, commonly called Chamo, is a talking ermine elf possessing a long, prehensile tail; his appearance often leads to mistaken assumptions he is a transformed mage. Originating from Wales, he was rescued from a trap by a five-year-old Negi Springfield. Chamo routinely seeks refuge with Negi during troubles, positioning himself as Negi's self-proclaimed familiar and advisor.
Chamo exhibits a highly perverted personality, notorious for stealing girls' underwear—amassing over 3,000 pairs—and fleeing to Negi to evade magical law enforcement, which cannot arrest a wizard's familiar.
