Description
Kinniku Mantarou, known as Kid Muscle in some adaptations, is the 59th prince of Planet Kinniku, born to Suguru Kinniku and Bibimba. Coddled during peacetime, he adopts a lazy, cowardly disposition, shirking his royal training for comfort. Yet beneath this reluctance lies dormant power: the "Burning Inner Strength" (Kajiba no Kuso Djikara), awakened under threat to allies or dishonorable foes. Triggered by crisis, the Niku Mark flares on his forehead, amplifying his physical and tactical prowess.

Initially trained by his father and mentor Ramenman, Mantarou’s apathy leads to mediocre combat and academic performance until pivotal moments force growth. Avenging Ramenman’s defeat by Bone Killer sparks his first awareness of potential. During the Hercules Factory Arc, trials culminate in a symbolic clash against Suguru, where he claims the "Mask of Glory" despite poor rankings—a turning point from reluctant heir to resolute warrior, though his assignment to guard a minor park reflects his initially underestimated role.

Relationships profoundly shape his journey. A one-sided infatuation with Rinko Nikaido matures into mutual respect, while his bond with Jacqueline Muscle shifts from unrequited affection to steadfast camaraderie. His rivalry with Kevin Mask evolves from hostility to nuanced alliance after repeated clashes, including a defining Chojin Olympics loss that spurs self-reflection and redemption. The tragic demise of Chaos Avenir, his trusted protégé, hardens his resolve to honor Chaos’s legacy through action.

Mantarou’s combat evolution mirrors his personal growth. Early reliance on inherited techniques like the Kinniku Buster and Kinniku Driver gives way to original creations such as the Muscle Millennium and Muscle Gravity, forging his distinct identity. Habitual evasion of training gradually transforms into disciplined preparation, spurred by defeats and the Demon Seed Arc’s confrontation with General Devil to shield allies.

The Ultimate Tag Tournament Arc challenges his leadership. Dismissed by peers for erratic antics, he grapples with partnership struggles, clashing with allies like Seiuchin. These trials force introspection, mending fractures and birthing tactical innovations like the Muscle Spark.

His persona balances levity and vulnerability: toilet humor and food-driven antics contrast fears of failure and a scarred back from unchecked power. Through trials, he evolves from sheltered prince to respected champion, weaving inherited legacy with self-made identity as a leader and warrior.
