Description
Nachiguron is a kaiju, or monster, who originally hails from Monster Island. He is introduced as a weak and timid creature who is afraid of humans, despite his immense size of up to sixty meters tall and a weight of fifty thousand tons. When Kinnikuman is dispatched to fight him, the hero quickly realizes that Nachiguron is harmless and chooses to spare him. After this encounter, Nachiguron shrinks himself down to roughly one meter in height and moves in with Kinnikuman and his sidekick Meat at their home in Beverly Park. Meat initially resists the idea, as he already has to care for the irresponsible Kinnikuman, but eventually agrees on the condition that Nachiguron takes care of himself. Meat gives him a special whistle to blow if he ever gets into trouble.

Nachiguron’s personality is defined by his severe cowardice and shyness. He is easily frightened, often cries, and is even looked down upon by human children. Despite this, he possesses a desire to prove his worth and overcome his fears. This is seen when he is confronted by the Kaijuu Yakuza for siding with Kinnikuman. He almost uses the whistle to call for help, but instead decides to handle the situation on his own, demonstrating a moment of personal growth. His motivations center on finding a safe place to belong and earning the approval of Kinnikuman and Meat by contributing to the household through chores and errands.

In the story, Nachiguron’s role evolves from an initial antagonist meant to be defeated to a recurring comedic supporting character and sidekick. In the original manga, he appears periodically to cheer for Kinnikuman or act as a referee, but is not seen again after the Choujin Olympics arc. In the anime adaptation, his role is expanded: he first appears as a cowardly minion of the villain Zangyaku-seijin during the Choujin Olympics, but eventually switches sides to join Kinnikuman. From that point, he becomes Kinnikuman’s second sidekick and is frequently seen alongside Meat for the remainder of the series. His key relationships are with Kinnikuman, who accepts him despite his weakness, and Meat, who acts as a caretaker and authority figure.

Notable abilities include his capacity to change size, shrinking from a giant kaiju to a small, human-sized form. He also possesses a Choujin Kyoudo of twenty thousand power, though this is considered extremely low by the standards of the series and he remains ineffective in combat. Additionally, he is a notoriously loud snorer. His appearance changes over time: he is initially bald, but later gains shaggy blonde hair, which becomes his standard look. Nachiguron does not appear in the sequel series Kinnikuman Nisei.
