Description
Emily is a Mimic device in the form of a porcelain doll, discovered abandoned by Sara Werec in a storage room with the experimental Ram-Dass Strain. Sara named her Emily after the doll's model designation, E.M.L.Y. Functioning as Sara's replacement control unit after her original was destroyed, this Mimic enables Sara to pilot the biologically incompatible Ram-Dass—a feat previously considered impossible. Emily possesses cyan hair and eyes, dressed in a dark red gown with matching cuffs and tights, along with black Mary Jane shoes.

Her origins lie with an extinct alien species from six centuries ago, composed entirely of identical pale-skinned girls sharing a collective telepathic consciousness. The Union captured these beings upon discovery, dissecting most to study their neural networks. Survivors like Emily were placed in stasis pods and forgotten. Ralph Werec recovered one pod during his attack on Sara's academy, awakening its occupant—a girl sharing Emily's name and appearance. The doll contains the consciousness of another survivor from this species. Ralph pursues Sara's crew because his Emily detected her counterpart's telepathic presence within the doll.

As a narrative device, Emily catalyzes Sara's psychological recovery and return to combat. Sara develops emotional dependency, confiding daily in the doll as a trusted companion. This bond facilitates Sara's integration into Lottie Gelh's Space Squadron and fuels her quest to unravel Ralph's betrayal. The Mimic's alien nature stays concealed until memory probes late in the series expose her species' tragic history—including the trauma that drove Ralph's defection. Emily's telepathic link to her counterpart lures Ralph into the final confrontation, where shared memories of their species' suffering prove pivotal to the resolution.
