Description
Unico, a unicorn cursed by jealous gods for his innate power to spread happiness and emotional well-being, faces eternal exile on the Hill of Oblivion. Defying divine orders, the West Wind rescues him, spiriting him across times and places while erasing his memories to shield him from divine retribution, particularly the pursuing Night Wind. This cycle of displacement and forgetting defines his existence, forcing repeated farewells to friends he cannot remember.

Profoundly kind, compassionate, and morally resolute, Unico acts with unwavering selflessness, prioritizing others' well-being regardless of their nature. He extends empathy even to antagonists, seeking to understand their pain rather than confront them. His inherent purity renders him incorruptible and immune to temptation. Generally gentle and sometimes meek, Unico exhibits significant courage defending friends or confronting threats, capable of using his horn offensively. He possesses a strong aversion to loneliness, both for himself and others, and often serves as a moral compass encouraging compassion.

Unico's primary magic induces happiness and emotional lightness, manifesting diversely based on the depth of friendship or love shared. When someone demonstrates genuine love or profound kindness towards him, he can transform into "The Mighty Unicorn," a larger, winged adult form granting enhanced strength and magic. His horn serves multiple purposes: a weapon, a tool for granting wishes like temporary transformations, and rarely, a challenging conduit for healing magic reserved for dire, life-threatening circumstances. He occasionally displays unawareness or imprecise control over his abilities.

In "Saving our Fragile Earth: Unico Special Chapter," Unico arrives on a future Earth rendered an uninhabitable, polluted wasteland by human environmental devastation. He befriends Tsubasa, a tree boy yearning to become human. Recognizing the planet's catastrophic state, they quest for restoration, encountering the Sphinx and the Spirit of Time (visually resembling Astro Boy). To prevent ecological collapse, the group travels five minutes into the past to alter humanity's destructive path. Confronting a monstrous entity embodying Earth's anger over human neglect, Unico expresses sympathy for its pain ("Poor Thing"). He persuades the creature that not all humans are careless, securing another chance for humanity. Facing petrification as time runs out, Unico breaks free by transforming into The Mighty Unicorn, fueled by bonds formed with Tsubasa, Sphinx, and the Spirit of Time. While Unico succeeds in changing the future, the West Wind arrives to spirit him away once more, continuing the cycle of displacement and forgetting. Tsubasa and the Sphinx are reincarnated as humans, with the Sphinx becoming Tsubasa's mother.

This pattern of forming deep connections only to be separated by the West Wind, followed by memory erasure, recurs across Unico's journeys. He consistently navigates diverse challenges, helping others overcome struggles while confronting the melancholy of impermanent relationships and the solitude imposed by divine persecution.
