TV-Series
Description
As head maid to the Valhalla royal family, Ms. Sanada exhibits unwavering loyalty to Princess Valkyrie. Her devotion frequently erupts in extreme excitement over Valkyrie's child form, which she finds irresistibly adorable, prompting enthusiastic outbursts and fiercely protective behaviors. Though intended to support Valkyrie, this intense dedication occasionally leads to misguided actions causing significant complications.
Using her "Cat Ear Gun" (alternatively called the Cat-Girl Ray Gun or Nekomata), she brainwashes unsuspecting girls near Kazuto Tokino into forming a permanent catgirl maid squadron. The brainwashing lasts indefinitely: the maids behave normally unless summoned by her whistle, yet perpetually don maid outfits. Ms. Sanada rarely recalls their individual names. Her arsenal features an array of assembled weapons and gadgets, including luggage that transforms into a compact firearm. She once justified this item as being for "hard to reach places" during a customs inspection.
Throughout Season 1, misconstruing Kazuto's interaction with Akina Nanamura as infidelity, she deploys her catgirl army to assault Akina's shrine, unintentionally triggering citywide destruction. Later, she arranges group endeavors like sponsored vacations and film projects centered on Valkyrie. Season 2 sees her joining a singing contest and a snowy mountain picnic, where separation in a blizzard leads to vivid hallucinations. Her role grows in Season 3 as she assumes a superhero alter ego to assist Valkyrie and Kazuto, but her obsessive spying on Valkyrie lands her in jail twice.
Ms. Sanada's relationships mirror her priorities. She holds deep admiration for Kazuto as Valkyrie's fiancé and sustains a friendship with Rika Tokino, even though her eccentric antics sometimes unsettle Rika. She bears a longstanding grudge against Princess Laine, stemming from Laine's past efforts to undermine her bond with Valkyrie on Valhalla. In contrast, she forges a close, informal friendship with Princess Mehm that rises above their official positions. Though initially hostile to Akina, she reconciles after Kazuto clarifies his relationship with Valkyrie. Her exchanges with Princess Chorus remain minimal but cordial, occasionally conducted electronically because of Chorus's unconventional habits.
Physically, she displays catgirl traits, featuring dark blue hair and standing 1.70 meters tall.
