Wyvern Rhadamanthys stands as one of the three Sacred Judges of the Underworld, commanding the Wyvern's Division and presiding over Caina alongside Griffon Minos and Garuda Aiacos within Hades' army. Hailing from the Faroe Islands or the United Kingdom in different continuities, he is 23 years old (28 in *The Lost Canvas*), stands 189 cm tall, weighs 84 kg, and possesses blond hair with piercing golden eyes. His blood type is O (ichor in *The Lost Canvas*), and his constellation is the Celestial Fierce Star.
Rhadamanthys wields the formidable Seventh Sense of Cosmo, granting him atomic-level matter manipulation, energy projection, dimensional travel, teleportation, and resilience against extreme conditions like absolute zero and high-voltage electricity. His signature attacks include the devastating "Greatest Caution" (also known as "Maximum Precaution" or "Maximum Destruction"), unleashing concentrated energy blasts or destructive shockwaves, and the "Wyvern Roar," channeling cosmic energy into ruinous sound waves. His combat tier ranges from Multi-Solar System level to Multi-Universe level, reflecting his status among the strongest Spectres. The Wyvern Surplice enhances his durability.
During the Hades Chapter - Sanctuary arc, Rhadamanthys defied Pandora’s orders, deploying Spectres to infiltrate Athena’s Sanctuary. After their defeat, he executed the traitorous resurrected Gold Saints Cancer Deathmask and Pisces Aphrodite with ease. He later confronted Leo Aiolia, Aries Mu, and Scorpio Milo at Hades’ Castle, exploiting the barrier that reduced Saints' power to 10% while leaving his own intact to defeat them. He subsequently battled the Bronze Saints, whose Cloths, blessed by Athena’s blood, resisted weakening. His subordinates intervened, enabling his retreat to the Underworld.
Within the Underworld, Rhadamanthys exposed Gemini Kanon’s illusion on Balron Lune but withdrew from their duel upon Pandora’s summons. He later thwarted Lyra Orphée’s assassination attempt on Hades by feigning submission to hypnotic music before mortally wounding Orphée, simultaneously enduring Pegasus Seiya’s meteor punches with minimal injury. In his final battle, Kanon overpowered Rhadamanthys by adapting to the "Greatest Caution," forcing the other Judges to intervene. Kanon ultimately sacrificed himself in a suicide attack that killed Rhadamanthys.
In the spin-off *The Lost Canvas*, Rhadamanthys’ background expands: born in the UK, he awakened early as a Specter. He battled Leo Regulus Ilias, who died protecting his son, survived Scorpio Kardia’s Scarlet Needle, and confronted the younger Regulus in the Temple of Saturn, destroying his physical form. He aided Pandora against Alone (Hades’ vessel) before meeting his end.
Rhadamanthys embodies a pragmatic and ruthless nature, prioritizing victory by any means, including exploiting environmental advantages like Hades’ castle barrier. His loyalty lies firmly with Hades over Pandora, leading him to disregard her commands when strategically advantageous. Tactical caution defines his approach, evident in his handling of Orphée’s plot and his initial assessment of threats like Kanon.
