Description
Capricorn Shura, the Gold Saint of Capricorn in various Saint Seiya narratives, begins as a steadfast enforcer of Sanctuary’s authority. Tasked by the false Pope Gemini Saga, he mortally wounds Sagittarius Aiolos—an act that later torments him, fueling his quest for redemption. His signature technique, Excalibur, manifests as cosmic blades from his limbs, a legacy of Capricorn Saints.

In the Sanctuary arc, Shura battles Dragon Shiryu, impaling his chest before choosing self-sacrifice. He transfers his Gold Cloth and Excalibur’s power to Shiryu, symbolizing his transition from blind obedience to championing Athena’s justice. Resurrected as a Specter in the Hades arc, Shura initially aids Hades’ forces, joining the forbidden Athena Exclamation to defeat Virgo Shaka. Yet upon reclaiming free will, he contributes to the Gold Saints’ collective destruction of the Wailing Wall, paving the Bronze Saints’ path to Elysion.

The spin-off *Soul of Gold* revives Shura in Asgard, where he confronts Aquarius Camus, now aligned with Asgard’s ruler Andreas. His final act obliterates a strategic target tied to Andreas, reaffirming his loyalty to Athena beyond death. Techniques like Jumping Stone—deflecting enemy strikes—complement his offensive prowess.

Shura’s legacy echoes through predecessors such as Lost Canvas’s El Cid, who wielded Excalibur to sever divine threats. Across his journey—loyal soldier, repentant warrior, spectral pawn, and posthumous ally—Shura’s arc embodies sacrifice, evolving from rigid enforcer to a guardian of divine justice, etching his resolve into the eternal conflict against the gods.
