Aquarius Camus is the Gold Saint who guards the eleventh temple of Athena's Sanctuary. He hails from France and undergoes rigorous training in the frozen wastes of Siberia. There, he mentors Cygnus Hyoga and Kraken Isaac, teaching them emotional control and stoicism as the foundation for mastering ice techniques rooted in atomic manipulation. His combat abilities center on freezing attacks, including Diamond Dust, Freezing Coffin, and his ultimate technique, Aurora Execution, which can reach near absolute zero. During the Sanctuary arc, Camus confronts his former pupil Hyoga at the Aquarius Temple. Though he appears hostile due to loyalty to the Pope, his true purpose is to push Hyoga toward awakening the Seventh Sense and achieving absolute zero. Camus sacrifices himself in that battle, ensuring his pupil’s growth as Athena’s protector. Later, Camus is resurrected alongside Gemini Saga and Capricorn Shura as Specters under Hades’ command, granted twelve hours of life to infiltrate Sanctuary under a false allegiance. Inside the temples, they encounter Virgo Shaka, and to overcome his power, Camus, Saga, and Shura jointly unleash the forbidden Athena Exclamation. This seemingly traitorous act serves their hidden goal of reaching Athena to aid her against Hades. After their defeat, Camus’s spirit joins the twelve Gold Saints in channeling their combined cosmos into an arrow that destroys the Wailing Wall in the Underworld, allowing the Bronze Saints to advance toward Athena in the final conflict.
