Ikki de Fênix, originally named Ikki, serves as the Bronze Saint of the Phoenix constellation. Sent to Death Queen Island in place of his younger brother, Andromeda Shun, he endured brutal training under Guilty. This forged his aggressive and solitary nature, contrasting Shun's gentleness. Witnessing Guilty kill his friend Esmeralda, Ikki killed Guilty and claimed the Phoenix Cloth, fueling his desire for revenge against figures like Mitsumasa Kido. Initially emerging as an antagonist, Ikki led the Black Saints and stole segments of the Sagittarius Gold Cloth during the Galaxian Wars. Defeated by Pegasus Seiya and buried in a landslide, he resurrected during a battle involving Shun and a Silver Saint, demonstrating his ability to return from death. He subsequently aided the Bronze Saints intermittently, maintaining his lone-wolf approach. Psychically intervening to shield Shun from Gemini Saga's mental assaults during the Twelve Temples arc, Ikki later confronted Virgo Shaka, sacrificing himself in mutual defeat. Resurrected by Shaka, he saved Seiya from Saga. In the Poseidon arc, he defeated Marine General Lyumnades Kaza, who exploited emotional weaknesses by shapeshifting, and survived Sea Dragon Kanon's interdimensional banishment and Galaxian Explosion. He rejoined the Saints for the final battle against Poseidon. Arriving at the Sanctuary in the Hades Chapter - Sanctuary OVA, Ikki declined formal alliance with Athena's forces. Appearing in the Underworld after learning of Hades' possession of Shun's body, he defeated Specter Garuda Aiacos. Confronting Hades directly to forcibly remove the deity from Shun resulted in his death. Condemned to frozen Cocytus for defying gods, Ikki resurrected again. Pandora provided her protective rosary, enabling him to traverse the Superdimension into Elysium. There, he aided the final battle against Hades' forces. Confronting Thanatos, the Leo Gold Cloth enveloped Ikki due to his birth constellation. Contact with Athena's blood later catalyzed his Phoenix Cloth's evolution into a God Cloth for the climactic fight. Beyond the original series, Ikki appears in "Saint Seiya: Next Dimension," rescuing Shun from Artemis' satellite commander and traveling to the past for battles across Gemini and Cancer temples. In "Saint Seiya Omega," he participated in wars against Mars and Pallas, facing adversaries like Holy Sword Aegaeon. A wound from Aegaeon forced a retreat, though he later returned to aid in defeating Saturn. His Phoenix Cloth regained its pre-meteorite form through regeneration. Ikki's primary techniques are the Phoenix Illusion Demon Fist, assaulting an opponent's psyche with traumatic illusions or memories, and Phoenix Wings Rise, manifesting fiery shockwaves. His unique Cosmo blends intense hatred and aggression with underlying loyalty to Shun, friends, and Athena. The Phoenix Cloth autonomously regenerates, reforming even after atomization without blood repair. Each resurrection typically increases Ikki's power, and the Cloth has undergone multiple evolutions, including to God Cloth. Evolving from a vengeful figure into a reluctant yet pivotal guardian of Athena, Ikki remains defined by resilience, sacrificial tendencies, and unwavering dedication to his brother.
