Description
Ikki de Fênix, the Bronze Saint of the Phoenix constellation, wields power surpassing typical Bronze Saints and exceeding most Silver Saints. Originating from a traumatic childhood protecting his younger brother Shun after their mother's death, this fierce protectiveness drove him to volunteer for brutal training on Death Queen Island in Shun's stead. Under master Guilty, he endured harsh conditioning harnessing hatred for strength. The accidental death of his beloved Esmeralda by Guilty's hand unleashed Ikki's suppressed rage, compelling him to kill Guilty and seize the Phoenix Cloth. This act ignited his initial descent into vengeance, leading him to command the Black Saints against the Graude Foundation and his fellow Saints.

His unique Cosmos burns with aggression and hatred, intrinsically guided by loyalty to Shun, Athena, and allies. The Phoenix Cloth self-repairs and regenerates even after total destruction, mirroring the mythical phoenix's resilience. Key techniques include the Phoenix Wings Rise, a concussive blast of wind and heat, and the Phoenix Illusion Demon Fist, assaulting opponents' minds with traumatic illusions or memories. Crucially, Ikki resurrects after death, each return amplifying his strength and adaptability. This power enables him to endure utter obliteration, like Saga's Galaxian Explosion, and evolve beyond prior limits.

In the Hades Chapter, Ikki ambushes Garuda Aiacos, one of Hades' top judges, overwhelming him through sheer force. Discovering Hades possessing Shun's body, he attempts a forcible extraction but fails, resulting in his execution by Hades. His body is condemned to Cocytus, the Underworld's ice prison for divine rebels. Defying divine punishment, Ikki resurrects independently (manga) or with Pandora's aid (anime), escaping to confront Hades once more. Pandora sacrifices her protective rosary to shield him in the Superdimension, enabling his flight to Elysion. There, after Thanatos destroys the Phoenix Cloth, Ikki temporarily dons the Leo Gold Cloth—foreshadowing his ordained future as Leo's Gold Saint. Immersing the cloth in Athena's blood transforms it into the Phoenix God Cloth, granting divine-tier capabilities to aid in Hades' defeat.

In broader media, his post-Hades path includes the canonical sequel *Next Dimension*, where he defends Shun from Artemis' forces and time-travels to the 18th-century Holy War. Past Leo Gold Saint Kaiser designates him as his successor, cementing this destiny. In *Saint Seiya Omega*, he mentors new protagonists, criticizing perceived weakness while retaining signature lone-wolf tactics and power. Across all arcs, his personality endures: a solitary, abrasive warrior disdaining teamwork who intervenes decisively to protect Shun or Athena's cause. His complexity stems from the duality of rage-fueled Cosmo and unwavering, self-sacrificial devotion—evidenced when he refrained from killing Hades-possessed Shun despite the strategic imperative.
