Description
Bes Jordan, raised on Earth, joined the Terran military and excelled as a top-performing cadet. His career path led to assignment as a military officer on the colony planet Solo. There, he encountered archaeologists excavating the Ideon, initially misidentifying it as an illegal construction project. When the Buff Clan assaulted Solo, Bes spearheaded the defense and entered the Ideon's torso component, witnessing its activation firsthand. While gathering refugees, he met Karala Ajiba, daughter of a Buff Clan commander. Mistaking her for a human colonist, he permitted her passage aboard the fleeing Solo Ship alongside other survivors.
Following the destruction of Solo's settlements, Bes assumed command of the Solo Ship by virtue of his military rank. He endured immense stress protecting the crew and civilians during their desperate flight from relentless Buff Clan pursuit. His leadership encompassed safeguarding children onboard, exemplified when he retrieved Ashura and Deck after their capture by Buff Clan forces and cautioned them against straying again. Bes also developed a relationship with Karala after learning her true alien heritage, defending her from crew distrust and shielding her during humiliation inflicted by her sister, Harulu. This bond culminated in Karala becoming pregnant with his child.
As the conflict escalated, Bes confronted numerous crises, including the death of crewmate Moera Fatima, an event that overwhelmed him, causing collapse from exhaustion and grief. Later, during negotiations on planet Ajian, the colony leader Commodore betrayed the Solo Ship crew, taking civilians hostage—an act resulting in Lin, sister of Sheryl Formosa, being killed. Bes participated in the subsequent operation to rescue the hostages. In the climactic confrontation, as the Solo Ship engaged the Buff Clan flagship Bairal Jin to rescue Karala and Joliver Ira (transported there), Karala revealed her pregnancy to her father, Doba Ajiba. Bes perished during the final battle when the Ideon's power triggered a cataclysmic event. He was ultimately reborn as a spirit alongside Karala and their child, Messiah.
