TV-Series
Description
Hammer was a modified human created by Dr. Aris, serving as a member of the Union's special forces team DA-5. Physically large and chubby, he was frequently depicted eating, sporting multiple ear piercings and a skull tattoo on his right arm. He typically wore a black A-shirt and dark pants.
Personality-wise, Hammer wielded violence nearly matching teammate Shark's intensity, yet retained sufficient logical reasoning to sidestep unnecessary trouble. Prioritizing survival above all, he readily accepted defeat against stronger opponents and employed pragmatic, often ruthless strategies. These included taking hostages or harming females without hesitation, a trait contributing directly to his downfall when he fatally underestimated Seira J. Loyard due to her gender.
His background centered on DA-5 operations. Hammer first appeared during the team's mountainous range mission. He later deployed to South Korea to investigate Dr. Crombel. There, he encountered Regis K. Landegre and several children. After observing Shark's initial clashes with Regis, Hammer intervened to save Shark during their second encounter. In the third confrontation, he captured the children and displayed their unconscious bodies to force Regis's surrender.
Hammer met his end on that same mission while encountering Seira, who was attempting to rescue Regis. Dismissing her capabilities as a female, he engaged her in battle. Realizing his error mid-fight, he retreated to a Union safe house to retrieve a bazooka-like energy weapon. He fired a high-powered energy beam at Seira, but she split the projectile with her Death Scythe. Seira then killed him with a single scythe strike.
In combat, Hammer specialized in weaponry, particularly explosives and firearms, though capable of direct physical engagement. His preference for explosives posed significant problems in urban environments like Seoul due to civilian risks. His arsenal included poison gases, sleeping gases, and the heavy energy weapon used against Seira. Like all DA-5 members, he could temporarily enhance his abilities using the drug "D."
Hammer did not appear in spin-off media such as *Rai's Adventure*, *Noblesse S*, the *Beginning of Destruction* OVA, or the *Awakening* OVA.
