Description
Goenitz, also known as General Dyar in certain adaptations, is a high-ranking officer within Emperor Zworder/Zordar's Gatlantis Empire, alternatively called the White Comet or Comet Empire. Serving as Chief of Staff, he actively plans and executes the empire's strategic military operations, including the invasion of Earth following Gatlantis's takeover of former Garmillan territories.

He conspires with Sabera and Razera to undermine Garmillas leader Abelt Desler/Dessler, aiming to destroy his reputation and influence within the empire. These actions ultimately provoke Emperor Zworder's anger. When their plots inadvertently enable the Yamato crew to cripple Gatlantean forces, Zworder abandons Goenitz and his co-conspirators to destruction on a doomed space station.

During strategic briefings, Goenitz outlines invasion tactics targeting Earth's energy centers, describing them as "effective softening-up tactics." He reassigns Desler to a support role in the rear, dismissing the threat posed by the Star Force (Yamato's crew), whom he believes Earth's Defense Force has marginalized. He expresses skepticism about Desler's value as a "valuable sample" after communication is lost with Miru, another officer monitoring Desler.

Goenitz frequently appears alongside Zworder and Sabera in the imperial throne room, observing developments and offering counsel. He voices concerns about Dessler's potential betrayal but accepts Zworder's decision to grant Dessler operational freedom for the time being. His primary role involves military advisement and intelligence assessment, reinforcing the empire's hierarchical command structure.

Physically depicted with green skin consistent with other Gatlanteans, Goenitz's character design draws inspiration from historical figures, resembling Ambrose Burnside in appearance while being named after Karl Dönitz.
