Description
Ikumi Kaidou originates as a genetically engineered Arma unit, part of the Soldato Division's support system on the Red Planet. As a clone of Latio (Mamoru Amami), he possesses enhanced telekinetic abilities. Following the planet's mechanization, he escaped to Earth aboard the J-Ark as an infant and was adopted by an elderly woman called "Mother," who raised him as human. His early life was marked by reluctance to form attachments, believing isolation would spare others grief when he inevitably departed. Mamoru Amami strongly opposed this worldview.

During the conflict against the Zonder Empire and Machine Primevals, his identity as Arma emerged. He demonstrated telekinesis capable of deflecting EI-19's attacks and combating Machine King Pizza. He faked his death during EI-01's attack on Tokyo Tower to covertly purify Soldato J-002 and Tomoro 0117. He later remained aboard the exploding King J-Der, unaware the blast would propel him and Soldato J beyond the known universe. Observing the universe's contraction due to the Sol Masters' actions, they returned to assist Mamoru against Repli-Mamoru. After a telekinetic battle resulted in his defeat, Hana Hatsuno rescued and cared for him. He subsequently aided GGG's journey to the Trinary Solar System, where the Sol Masters captured him and linked him to Pia Decem PIT's core, transferring damage from its Generating Armor to him. Following Pia Decem's destruction, he assisted in defeating Palus Abel before returning to Earth in an ES Missile and reuniting with his adoptive mother.

Eight years later, he became a co-pilot of the mechanoid GaoGaiGo alongside Mamoru in the new Gutsy Global Guard (GGG Blue). His personality evolved significantly: he adopted a ponytail, expressed himself more openly, and used first-name terms with Mamoru, contrasting his earlier reticence. He and Mamoru concealed the King of Ruin's resemblance to Genesic GaoGaiGar, fearing implications for rescuing the original GGG team. He trained rigorously as a test pilot, leveraging his decade of experience. His relationships deepened, particularly with Yuka Koala, whom he met post-FINAL and accepted her marriage to another, and Alouette Pommier, who developed feelings for him after he saved her from BioNet. While aware of her affection, he struggled to reciprocate but grew to value their time together.

His telekinetic powers rivaled the Intestine Primeval's black hole and included purifying Zonderians—a capability Mamoru lacked. He could issue a "freeze command" to disable J-Jewels, though proximity to G-Stones nullified this effect. In combat, he employed energy slashes from his hands to cut through weapons and armor. The manga depicted him performing the "Hell and Heaven" technique with Mamoru while piloting GaoGaiGo.
