Description
Kennosuke is a young samurai boy residing in an anachronistic Tokyo blending feudal Japan with modern technology and culture. He hails from a family upholding traditional samurai customs and values within this contemporary setting. His daily life involves balancing his family's adherence to historical norms against the surrounding modernity.

When classmate Oden asks Kennosuke on a date, his unfamiliarity with modern dating customs drives the story. Seeking guidance, he consults his mother, whose explanation proves unclear. He then turns to his companion Shinobimaru, a pig ninja, whose advice is misguided. This leads Kennosuke into misadventures—including an unintended swordfight—as he follows Shinobimaru's instructions for date preparation. Throughout these events, Kennosuke displays earnestness and naivety.

The narrative concludes with Kennosuke directly questioning Oden about the nature of a date, leaving their interaction unresolved due to the story's abrupt ending. No significant character evolution occurs within this single-story adaptation. Kennosuke's relationships center on his familial context and his friendship with Shinobimaru. This character originates from Akira Toriyama's one-shot manga *Young Master Ken'nosuke*, and the animated adaptation remains the sole portrayal without sequels, films, or spin-offs expanding his story.
