Description
Talhand, called Talhand the Clifftop, is a dwarf from the Dwarf Village on the Millis Continent. He ranks as the 37th of 51 siblings, raised in a communal culture grouping children of the same generation. His closest bond was with his younger brother Godbard, the 38th sibling. To support Godbard's future as Ore God, Talhand mastered water and wind magic—disciplines unconventional among dwarves who traditionally favor earth and fire. Despite this dedication, Godbard rejected Talhand after losing a blacksmithing competition, causing Talhand to depart during Godbard's succession ceremony.

Physically, Talhand displays classic dwarf traits: short stature, muscular build, and a long orange beard split into two forks by dark bracers. He consistently wears dark armor, gauntlets, a helmet, and a white robe, projecting a rugged warrior appearance. His beard is particularly distinctive, extending below his waist.

Following his exile, Talhand became a solo adventurer. Initial struggles stemmed from his reluctance to trust others and his attraction to men. He achieved B-Rank status solo and occasionally partnered with Elinalise Dragonroad, whose combat style complemented his own despite her irritating advances. Their collaboration solidified when Paul Greyrat formed the "Fang of the Black Wolf" party, uniting Talhand, Elinalise, Ghislaine Dedoldia, and Geese Nukadia. This group of societal outcasts gained renown for their exploits.

Years later, Talhand rejoined former comrades to help Paul locate family displaced by a magical catastrophe. He participated in the perilous search for Paul's wife Zenith within the Teleportation Labyrinth, tanking attacks from a Manatite Hydra while partnering with the demon mage Roxy, highlighting his role as a durable frontline combatant.

As a "Magic Knight," Talhand balances martial prowess with magical ability. Though dwarves naturally excel in earth and fire magic, his training included water and wind. Documented abilities show intermediate earth magic and elementary proficiency in fire, water, and wind. His combat style relies on high durability due to low agility, utilizing heavy armor for defense and an axe-like wand for physical and magical strikes. Later, he honed his blacksmithing skills in Millishion, employing all four elemental magics to craft high-quality weapons and armor. His growing reputation secured sponsorship from the Rude Mercenary Company and led to establishing his own shop.

Personality-wise, Talhand exhibits stubbornness and nonconformity, rejecting dwarven magical traditions and blacksmithing conventions. Betrayal by Godbard fostered initial distrust, yet he demonstrates deep loyalty to trusted companions like Elinalise and Paul. He displays deadpan snark in interactions, particularly with Elinalise, and remains unaffected by feminine charms due to his homosexuality—a trait complicating his early adventuring group formation.

In his later years, Talhand returned to the Dwarf Village to settle grievances, facilitating a meeting between Rudeus Greyrat and the Ore God. He forged weapons using rare black ore provided by Rudeus, which intrigued the Ore God and initiated a business collaboration within the ORSTED Corporation, marking significant reconciliation with his heritage.
