Description
J started as a battle racer in the Ōgami Corps. Dr. Ōgami trained him in destructive tactics and an "anything-to-win" philosophy. His initial machine, the Proto Saber JB, used remote-controlled air brakes weaponized to blow opponents off the track.
A pivotal shift occurred during the Mikuni's Five Star Land event. Exposure to the Seiba brothers' sportsmanship sparked his appreciation for fair competition. After losing to them, he renounced battle racing, destroyed the Proto Saber JB's remote controller, and permanently left Ōgami Labs. He joined Dr. Tsuchiya's laboratory as an assistant, marking his redemption. This environment fostered significant personal growth, transforming him from an introverted and emotionally reserved individual into a more cheerful, expressive, and collaborative team member.
Technically gifted from his Ōgami training, J became the TRF Victorys' foremost mechanic and designer. His expertise in computers and machinery proved invaluable: he repaired Ryo Takaba's heavily damaged Tridagger X as restitution for prior sabotage, co-designed and engineered Go Seiba's Cyclone Magnum, and later created the Proto Saber Evolution as his primary machine for the World Grand Prix. The Proto Saber Evolution replaced his battle-oriented JB model, featuring the Dolphin System – a technical innovation enhancing stability and performance without offensive capabilities. This machine symbolized his commitment to pure racing.
His bond with Go Seiba evolved into one of the team's strongest interpersonal connections. They collaborated frequently on technical projects, notably the Cyclone Magnum's development.
In later years, depicted in the sequel *Return Racers!*, J continued refining his technical craft. He designed advanced iterations like the Proto Saber Evolution Stage-3 and Stage-4, maintaining his role as a leading innovator in Mini 4WD technology. His legacy endures through these contributions and his foundational shift from a weaponized approach to one prioritizing technical ingenuity and teamwork.
