Description
The Genie of the Lamp serves from within a magic oil lamp discovered by Aladdin in a booby-trapped cave in the 1982 anime film *Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp*. Rubbing the lamp summons this genie to grant wishes to its possessor. Using these wishes, Aladdin gains wealth, status, and rescues Princess Badral. The Lamp Genie conjures lavish feasts, creates palaces, and transports entire structures over great distances, such as moving Aladdin's palace to Africa at the wizard's command.

A separate Genie of the Ring, bound to a magic ring given to Aladdin by the wizard, possesses lesser power. Rubbing the ring summons this genie, who first rescues Aladdin from the cave by transporting him to safety. Though subordinate to the Lamp Genie, the Ring Genie later transports Aladdin to Africa to confront the wizard, an act which destroys the ring.

Both genies serve their current owner obediently, their powers constrained by the authority of the lamp or ring. The Lamp Genie is compelled to serve the wizard after he acquires the lamp, enabling the wizard to seize Aladdin's palace and princess. Neither genie exhibits independent motivations or personality beyond fulfilling commands. After defeating the wizard, Aladdin seals the lamp in a chest and discards the key, confining the Lamp Genie.
