Description
Choromatsu Matsuno is one of six identical sextuplets. His name draws from an Edo-era nickname for fast-running, foolish children and the onomatopoeia "chorochoro" (to rush). While early media did not emphasize birth order, recent works establish him as the third-eldest brother.

As a child, Choromatsu is impulsive and quick-tempered, prone to hasty judgments followed by flight. His exceptional speed and agility make him excel in sports. He frequently boasts about his abilities and prioritizes results over his brothers' well-being. He shares a close yet competitive relationship with Osomatsu, often partnering in mischief but also engaging in power struggles, whether challenging Osomatsu's sabotage or seeking dominance himself. These conflicts typically resolve quickly. When Osomatsu was temporarily adopted, Choromatsu aggressively attempted to lead the family before breaking down upon Osomatsu's return. He displays occasional laziness leading to unreliability and experiences bouts of bad luck, like being urinated on by an elephant. Financially, he maintains average savings compared to his brothers.

In his teens, Choromatsu adopts thick glasses to project a studious image, resulting in clumsiness, tripping, and noticeably stiff posture. He adopts obnoxious, teacher's-pet behavior to appear responsible but achieves poor academic results, hiding erotic magazines inside textbooks instead of studying. This phase lays the groundwork for his adult personality, influenced by a pep talk from his future self about responsibility.

As an adult, Choromatsu positions himself as the most logical and mature brother, frequently expressing concern over their unemployment. He serves as the primary straight man and challenges Osomatsu's leadership. Despite this self-proclaimed maturity, he displays intense fawning around cute girls, especially idols like Nyaa and Totoko Yowai. He struggles to conceal his emotions or thoughts and tends to overthink situations. His serious demeanor masks deep-seated insecurities and self-consciousness, often leading to gloating or complacency that reinforces his NEET lifestyle. While presenting as an idol enthusiast, he admits his interest lies solely in fantasizing about the girls, not their music. He retains a lingering interest in sexual content from his youth.

Choromatsu's central relationship with Osomatsu combines collaboration and rivalry. They form the most frequent duo in early stories, often partnering in schemes. Choromatsu resists Osomatsu's plans when they backfire and occasionally retaliates, such as sabotaging Osomatsu's orienteering map after a betrayal attempt. Despite conflicts, Choromatsu harbors strong familial attachment, returning home distressed after running away. A notable story depicts him remaining physically and mentally stunted at age 10 following Osomatsu's disappearance, regressing to chanting Osomatsu's name and the alphabet in shock.
