Description
Marie Azami, princess of Azami Kingdom, operates incognito under the alias "Marie" as the Witch of the East End within the capital's slums. She abandoned her royal duties to find a cure for the curse afflicting her father, King Azami, vowing not to return to the palace until she succeeds. Her anonymous life enables her to gather vital information through potion trading, often accepting intel as payment due to the district's poverty.

Physically tall, Marie possesses long peach-pink hair reaching past her hips and straight bangs covering her eyebrows. Her amber eyes are accentuated by silver-rimmed glasses. Her typical witch attire features a dark purple hat adorned with the number "4" and wing-like embroidery, paired with a matching ruffled dress displaying red frills, lace bracers, and a modesty panel at the low neckline. This persona contrasts her former royal appearance, where she did not wear glasses.

Marie exhibits a blend of naughtiness and clumsiness. She neglects household chores, resulting in a perpetually disorganized home, relying heavily on Lloyd Belladonna for cooking and cleaning. Despite resenting her mentor Alka—derisively nicknaming her "loli hag" due to inflicted curses—Marie maintains deep-seated loyalty. She flusters easily when teased and displays fierce protectiveness over Lloyd, for whom she harbors implied romantic feelings. Her commitment to kingdom peace drives her actions, including operating as a witch to aid others.

Her relationships are pivotal. She intensely protects Lloyd, sometimes scolding him to keep him from royal conflicts. Her dynamic with Alka is adversarial yet rooted in mutual magical respect. She harbors profound hatred for the Demon Lord Abaddon, a threat to her kingdom. Her former bodyguard, Chrome, retired to run a café after her disappearance but later rejoined the military as a teacher, indirectly supporting her cause.

Marie's magic centers on potent Rune Magic and Wind Magic. Her runes enable effects like summoning meteorites, curse purification, and elemental manipulations such as ice and fire. Utilizing these runes requires immense power, placing her combat potency at a "Small City level." She demonstrates resistance to corruption-type abilities, like Abaddon's locust transformation touch. Her stamina stems from possessing the kingdom's greatest magical reserves, allowing effortless wielding of ancient runes. Key moments include her defiance against Abaddon, declaring she cannot die before apologizing to Lloyd and fulfilling her royal duty.

Her character development involves balancing dual identities while advancing her quest to break her father's curse, underscoring her resilience and dedication to both kingdom and newfound allies.
