TV-Series
Description
Professor Graybon is a scientist and inventor who appears as a main supporting character in Bomber Man & Bidaman Bakugaiden V and also in the earlier series Bomberman B-Daman Bakugaiden. He is a genius researcher who serves as the chief engineer of the B-da Cops, and his main function in the story is to build and maintain the new armors the team uses in combat. He is not a frontline fighter and generally remains at the base, where he develops equipment, repairs damaged machines, and monitors how the team uses his inventions. His careful attitude toward his work is visible when Shirobon ignores his warning and fires an experimental energy shot during a battle, causing serious damage to the armor; the professor responds with a severe scolding.
In the earlier series, Graybon moved to Bida City together with his grandson Aobon after deciphering ancient records that predicted an invasion by the Dark Bida, and he brought the B-Da Armor robots as a defensive measure. He had also supported the Nereid resistance against the Nol Arc Empire, establishing his long-standing role as the scientist who equips the heroes. This background carries into Bakugaiden V, where he continues to work for the B-da Cops from their base and supplies the team with new machines as their missions take them across space and time.
Professor Graybon's motivation is to protect peace by supporting the B-da Cops through technology. He uses his scientific knowledge to give the team new equipment and to prepare for future threats, and he takes responsibility for the machines he creates. His key relationships include his grandson Aobon, the Blue Bomber, a family bond that carries into Bakugaiden V, and Akabon, who assists him with laboratory work in the earlier series. In Bakugaiden V he is accompanied by Mimitan, a small bat-like creature who acts as his assistant. The series also devotes an episode to his rivalry with another scientist, giving him a personal storyline separate from the team's missions.
The character's development is largely a continuation of his role from the previous series: he remains the genius inventor who works behind the scenes, and his personal storyline is expressed through his professional rivalry and his ongoing responsibility for the team's technology. His notable abilities are his engineering genius, his skill in designing new armor and weapons, and his analytical talent in studying ancient texts and anticipating threats. Through these abilities, he functions as the technological backbone of the B-da Cops throughout Bakugaiden V.
