Movie
Description
Created by Uncle Jam to be Melonpanna's older sister, Rollpanna's genesis involved the rare "Flower of Pure Heart" meant to instill selflessness, bravery, and kindness. Baikinman sabotaged the process by adding "Bacteria Grass," resulting in Rollpanna emerging with two conflicting hearts: a red symbolizing goodness and a blue representing evil. This duality causes involuntary personality shifts; the evil heart activates upon seeing or hearing about Anpanman, while the good heart resurfaces upon seeing Melonpanna.

Rollpanna sports a white turban-like head wrap marked with a red "R," a bright cyan cape, and a primarily black outfit accented by white gloves, belt, and shoes. A dark brown curly lock escapes her turban, framing turquoise blue eyes. Two hearts on her chest visually signal her nature—red on the left, blue on the right; the red heart glows when happy. Transforming into "Black Rollpanna," her turban turns dark grayish-black, accessories blacken, eyes shift from blue to red, and the blue heart flashes brighter. Extreme transformations, like in the movie "Roll To Laura, Ukigumojou no Himitsu," alter the turban's "R" to a "B."

Her primary weapon is a gymnastics ribbon, used to ensnare foes or generate tornadoes. She flies faster than other bread-themed heroes and possesses heightened hearing, detecting Melonpanna's calls regardless of distance. As Black Rollpanna, she gains abilities like electrocuting opponents or turning them to stone. When split into separate entities (episode 654 "Futari no Rollpanna"), her purely evil form becomes destructive, ignores commands, attacks even Melonpanna, and holds no memory of her good self. Contact with Melonpanna's melon juice or hearing her voice typically reverts Rollpanna.

Rollpanna shares a profound bond with Melonpanna, responding instantly to her distress calls despite a reclusive lifestyle. Her evil heart makes Anpanman an unintentional enemy, though she respects him, and he consistently regards her as an ally. She experiences camaraderie with Currypanman, escaping an avalanche together, and with Shokupanman, who comforts her during a rainstorm. Shokupanman is one of the few besides Melonpanna who can calm her evil state, using shared memories like tending a flower. She resents Baikinman for corrupting her creation and is occasionally coerced into aiding his schemes.

To protect others, Rollpanna isolates herself in the mountains, emerging only for Melonpanna's summons or when Baikinman forces her evil side into action, returning to solitude after his defeats. Her development includes gradually building trust, aiding Princess Kirara in a film and bonding with a horse named Marin in the 1995 movie "Yūreisen o Yattsukero!!" Despite her tragic nature, she undertakes quiet acts of kindness, like aiding ailing Shokupanman or protecting animals. Her character draws inspiration from the duality in "Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" and the heroic tomboy archetypes of Takarazuka Revue theater.
