Movie
Description
Jam Ojisan serves as creator and primary caregiver in his narrative realm. His identity revolves around being the benevolent baker who birthed Anpanman when a life-imbued shooting star crashed into his oven during baking. This pivotal event established his core role in generating sentient bread-based heroes, including Anpanman, Melonpanna, and Rollpanna. Earlier manga versions attribute Currypanman’s creation to him, though later depictions introduce ambiguity around this origin.

He operates from his bakery, functioning as a constant provider of sustenance and technological reinforcement for the heroes. His expertise spans both baking and advanced mechanics, evidenced by inventions like the Anpanman Mobile and his ability to repair mechanical characters. This dual proficiency makes him a versatile problem-solver in his universe.

His dynamics reflect paternal bonds, especially with Anpanman, whom he raised from infancy and continually supports by baking replacement heads whenever Anpanman’s current head is damaged or depleted through self-sacrifice. He extends similar nurturing care to Melonpanna and Creampanda. With his bakery assistant Batako, he shares familial closeness despite no official kinship, collaborating daily to maintain bakery operations and hero support. His interactions with Rollpanna remain limited by her unstable dual-hearted nature, constraining direct engagement despite his concern.

Within their cosmology, both he and Batako are fairies, consistent with the absence of ordinary humans in their world. Early manga iterations depicted him smoking a pipe, a trait omitted in subsequent anime and film adaptations.

Regarding "Inochi no Hoshi no Dolly", Jam Ojisan adheres strictly to his established role—baking, offering mechanical aid, and providing general support during the Star Festival events—without unique contributions to the film’s central narrative involving the sentient doll Dolly.
