Description
Hale, a boy raised in a jungle village by his disowned mother, Weda, shoulders household duties early due to her carefree irresponsibility. He cooks, cleans, and tends to her during frequent binge-drinking episodes, cultivating patience and duty tinged with simmering resentment.

His routine shatters when Guu—a chaos-driven entity masquerading as an adopted girl—arrives. Her reality-warping powers and delight in tormenting him spark relentless clashes, yet Hale clings to steadfast determination, balancing domestic tasks with containing her antics. His efforts to unmask her supernatural nature are thwarted by the villagers’ obliviousness.

Tension defines Hale’s dynamic with Dr. Clive, his biological father, as rivalry flares over Clive’s courtship of Weda. Guu mocks Hale’s protectiveness as an Oedipal complex, but he begrudgingly accepts Clive after Weda’s pregnancy and their marriage.

Hale’s encounters with Guu’s alternate reality-stomach—home to surreal, trapped inhabitants like Seiichi and Tomoyo—begin as dismissed dreams but gradually unveil her enigma. Repeated exposure to her anomalies compels adaptation, leaving him the sole witness to her disruptions.

A brief urban relocation with Weda and Guu brings assassination attempts from Weda’s siblings and complex school dynamics, testing Hale’s resilience and demanding shrewd problem-solving through uneasy collaboration with Guu.

By adulthood, Hale evolves into a village schoolteacher, marrying childhood friend Marie and fathering a daughter whose uncanny Guu-like smirk and mischief hint at reincarnation. His journey from exasperated youth to grounded family man remains shadowed by enduring echoes of Guu’s chaos.
