Preyas is a humanoid chameleon-like Bakugan, initially aligned with Aquos. His unique capability allows him to alter his molecular structure, adopting other attributes—primarily Darkus or Subterra—before reverting to Aquos. He turns this trait into a tactical edge, compensating for his relatively small size with enhanced speed and versatility. Originally partnered with Marucho Marukura in Bakugan Battle Brawlers, Preyas exhibits a dual-layered personality: outwardly, he serves as a comedic jokester, prone to ill-timed pranks and battlefield cowardice, yet beneath this lies deep loyalty to Marucho and profound emotional conviction when allies face threats.
His background holds early significance within the Bakugan hierarchy. After Vestroia reformed into New Vestroia, Preyas remained on the planet and encountered Elfin, an inexperienced Aquos Bakugan. He assumed a mentorship role, training her in combat techniques and developing a protective, flirtatious relationship with her. During the Vestal invasion, Prince Hydron captured and petrified Preyas into statue form alongside other legendary Bakugan like Tigrerra and Hydranoid, prior to Dan Kuso and Marucho's arrival in New Vestroia.
Rescued from petrification in episode 26, Preyas returned to active duty with Marucho. Tensions surfaced with Elfin due to misunderstandings over his protective intentions, especially concerning her safety with Aquos Attribute Energy. This prompted Elfin to briefly leave the Resistance's sanctuary, leading to a joint battle against Prince Hydron and Shadow Prove. During the clash, Elfin sacrificed herself to shield Preyas, triggering a rare, furious outburst where he defeated their adversaries while declaring vengeance for his "precious little Elfin." Though restored, their dynamic continued to fluctuate between mutual affection and comedic bickering.
In subsequent battles against the Alternative Weapon System, Preyas demonstrated unwavering courage, rescuing both Marucho and Elfin during the assault—prompting Elfin to dub him "my hero." He remained steadfast, guarding the rear during the infiltration of the Alternative. Following the conflict’s resolution, Preyas returned to New Vestroia with Elfin and other former Guardian Bakugan.
During Mechtanium Surge, Preyas adopted a mature, instructor-like role, training a Bakugan named Amazon on New Vestroia. He expressed concern over Drago’s unstable powers and intervened against Anubias’s Chaos Bakugan, though Venexus swiftly defeated him. Later, while defending New Vestroia from Mechtavius Destroyer alongside an army of Bakugan, Preyas witnessed the destruction of both Amazon and Elfin. He was subsequently killed alongside Taylean, Master Ingram, and Storm Skyress. This timeline was erased when the Battle Brawlers utilized the Current of Time to reverse events, leaving his fate uncertain—either residing peacefully on New Vestroia or reunited with Marucho.
Throughout his engagements, Preyas utilized signature abilities reflecting his attribute versatility. Key Ability Cards included Blue Stealth (transferring G-Power while blocking Gate Cards), Blue Squall (subtracting opponent G-Power), Whirl Kick (Darkus G-Power transfer), Side Formation (Subterra ability negation), and Aquos-specific defenses like Wave Shield. His combat style balanced strategic attribute shifts with sudden, serious interventions during critical moments.
