Ryuma operates as a covert warrior within the ancient Fuma Clan, historically aligned with the Hojo Clan and persisting into the modern era. When the rival Seishikan Academy enlists the antagonistic Yasha Clan to threaten Hakuo Academy, the Fuma Clan dispatches Ryuma alongside fellow operatives Kojirou, Kouu, and Ryuho to counter the threat. He participates in the initial conflict against the Yasha Clan's eight generals, engaging in the larger 8-on-9 battle structure between the factions. Ryuma meets his demise in Episode 3 of the Yasha Chapter OVA during combat against the Yasha General Byakko, who had infiltrated the Fuma ranks disguised as Kouu. His swift death occurs in the same episode that introduces multiple key combatants, aligning with the narrative's condensed battle pacing. Following this early conflict, Ryuma does not appear in subsequent story arcs such as the Sacred Sword War Chapter or the Fuma Rebellion Chapter.
