Description
Jackal, the Great Demon King Jackal, hails from Planet Jackal and commands the Jackal Army. Long ago, Ultraman King defeated and sealed him within a black hole as punishment for crimes against galactic civilization, ending his tyrannical reign.
In 1975, Jackal escaped, having absorbed the black hole's power during confinement. Seeking vengeance against the Ultra Warriors and renewed universal conquest, he systematically assassinated multiple Ultra Brothers. Using shapeshifting, he mimicked their deadliest adversaries: he killed the original Ultraman disguised as Zetton, replicated Alien Nackle and Black King to murder Ultraman Jack, assumed Ace Killer's form to crucify Ultraman Ace, and took Birdon's form to kill Ultraman Taro offscreen. Later, he murdered Astra while impersonating Zoffy, luring him into a trap.
This campaign forced survivors like Zoffy and the Mother of Ultra into hiding on Earth, adopting human disguises. Jackal's army invaded and enslaved Earth, using human hostages to flush out remaining Ultras. His tactics emphasized psychological cruelty; after losing a horn—a potential source of his shapeshifting power—to the Ultra warrior Melos, he feigned surrender only to cripple Melos and blast him with his Jackal Destruction Ray, a golden-energy attack emitted as his hair turned yellow.
Jackal's powers included shapeshifting, allowing him to replicate the abilities of forms he adopted, such as Zetton's barrier and final beam, Ace Killer's weapons, and Black King's durability. He commanded his army with indifference, firing upon his own troops to eliminate foes.
His defeat occurred during a confrontation on his homeworld. Though he seemingly killed Melos, Zoffy donned Melos's Cosmo Tector armor to impersonate him. When Jackal attacked, Zoffy retaliated with the M87 Beam. Simultaneously, the Ultra Brothers—revived by Ultraman King—converged their signature beams on Jackal, causing him to expand violently before exploding into fleshy debris. His death prompted his army's retreat, ending the invasion.
In a later conflict, a new entity assumed the title of Great Demon King Jackal. Originally one of the Jackal Legion's Four Heavenly Kings, he enhanced his power by leaping into a black hole and absorbing its energy. He invaded the Land of Light but was bisected by the warrior Aura after attempting a cowardly sneak attack, leading to his army's surrender.
